About CCLCs

A Chrysalis Community Learning Center (CCLC) will be the infusion of a library, cyber café, classroom, adult learning program, community education program, microeconomic training center and community center into one location.

The Centers will be consistent in technology, training and culture. They will function like a modern consistent franchise, only serving community collaboration and knowledge.

The Centers are global in nature because they are collaborative in sharing global Web education resources, common lessons, shared lesson building and a shared global library portal. The Chrysalis Community Learning Center leverages the Web to tap into government, NGO and private knowledge/communities throughout the world.

CCLC is more than a web portal to the world. Local communities will publish volumes and unite in the millions. They are centers for the collective people to use in problem solving, community building and cultural expression. What good is knowledge if you can’t do something with it that unifies the communities?

CCLCs are global because they can encourage community social networking, shared community building and publishing of Web content with others throughout the world. Chrysalis Community Learning Centers can cross-network via culture, business, geography or communities of similar interests.

A Chrysalis Community Learning Center is designed for self-administration by the local community to promote democratic education.

Global Community Learning Centers can integrate all the resources of the Web with local teachers, librarians and coaches into a safe place to meet and use global resources.

CCLC is place for parents, teachers, youth, police, business, students, puppet shows, AIDS plays, Jazz, art and emergency facilities. It is a place where answers are given and personal expressions are made.

A Social and Safe Place:
A Chrysalis Community Learning Center can be in a central location where a person can go to seek answers, learn or even publish their ideas. A key element to US Learning Centers is that they remove the individual from the pressure of the streets, war and poverty in order for the student to focus on transforming their life.

Central Destination for Town:
This central place for adult learning and guidance can be used by all organizations to create economies of scale for training and a more holistic education forum for any program to survive. Imagine HIV and family planning right next door to microeconomics and leadership.

Central Local Meeting Places/Web: Agencies, NGO, missions, and volunteers can all leverage the Web library, social networking and training facilities.

Two-way Portal to the World:
Unlike the top-down colonial view of traditional education, libraries and eLearning, these locations break through the restrictive modes into collaborative communities between Chrysalis Community Learning Centers. In addition, the Chrysalis Learning Center will be empowered to publish local knowledge/lessons to a global audience.

Unlimited Scalability:
Because of the backbone system design of the Chrysalis Community Learning Center, there is no additional cost for adding new lessons with more content to the global web library portals.
Multiple Use Sustainability:
The cross-agency use of the public Chrysalis Learning Center will ensure a vested interest in the Chrysalis Learning Center’s success.
